Sometimes what you need the most is to simply get away from it all: this weekend, you’ll do just that. You’ll find your own little bit of peace in a quaint market down, where your home for the night will be a coaching inn turned classic British pub. From there, you’ll take in the scenery of Ampthill Great Park, where you’ll hear nothing but the chatter of birds and wind in the trees. When your stomach starts to rumble, you’ll head back to the hotel for a wood-fired pizza where the flavours do all the talking for you… And relax.

🌳 Pop on some comfy shoes and wander just ten minutes to Ampthill Great Park, the 160 acres of woodland and parkland that Henry VIII used to visit for a spot of hunting
🍕Head back to the hotel when you hear your tummy rumbling for a genuine wood-fired Neapolitan pizza
🤫 Bite into a slice and let the flavours of a San Marzano tomato sauce and Fior di Latte mozzarella do all the talking: the quieter you are, the better the food
🛏️ Spend the rest of the evening living it up from the comfort of your squishy hotel bed, savouring the peaceful sounds of the countryside outside your window
🍳 Start the next day by polishing off a full english or a full vegan
If you’re a bit of a history buff, the White Hart will be quite the treat. Above the bar’s fireplace is a mural of the Prince of Wales feathers, created by local artists in 1646. Head to the dining room and you’ll find some arts and crafts flair from the 1930s.
